    The Bear and Two Friends



    Once upon a time, two best friends, Sam and John, lived in a small village. They always did everything together. One day, they decided to go on a journey through the forest.

     

    Before they left, an old man in the village warned them, “The forest is big and dangerous. Wild animals live there. Always stay together and help each other.”

     

    “Don’t worry! We are best friends. We will always stay together,” Sam and John promised.

     

    Walking Through the Forest

    The two friends entered the deep forest. The trees were tall, and the sunlight barely touched the ground. Birds were chirping, and a cool breeze was blowing.

     

    As they walked, they talked and laughed. “This forest is beautiful,” said John. “Yes! But we must be careful,” replied Sam.

     

    Suddenly, they heard a loud rustling sound. CRACK! Something big was moving behind the bushes. Their hearts started beating fast.

     

    A Big Bear Appears!

    A huge brown bear came out from the bushes! It had big sharp claws and strong teeth. It growled loudly, “Grrrrrr!”

     

    Sam and John were very scared. “Oh no! What should we do?” Sam whispered.

     

    Before John could answer, Sam quickly ran to a nearby tree. He climbed up fast and hid between the branches. He did not think about John at all.

     

    John, however, could not climb the tree. He was stuck on the ground, alone. “Sam! Help me!” he shouted, but Sam did not come down.

    John quickly lay down on the ground. He closed his eyes and held his breath. He stayed very still, pretending to be dead.

     

    The big bear came closer. It sniffed John’s face. “Sniff, sniff!” It moved its nose near his ear.

     

    John did not move. He stayed as still as a rock. After a few moments, the bear lost interest and walked away. It disappeared into the forest.

    The hare laughed loudly. “You want to race with me? You are so slow! I will win easily!” But he agreed.

     

    The animals in the forest heard about the race. They came to watch. The fox became the referee. He said, “The race will start from this tree and end at that big rock.”

     

    The race started. “One, two, three, GO!” The hare ran very fast. In just a few seconds, he was far ahead. The tortoise was very slow. He walked step by step.

     

    The hare looked back and saw the tortoise far behind. He laughed and said, “The tortoise is so slow! I have plenty of time. Let me rest under this tree.”

     

    The hare lay down under the tree and soon fell asleep. He slept for a long time. Meanwhile, the tortoise kept walking. He did not stop. Step by step, he moved forward. He slowly passed the sleeping hare.

     

     

    After some time, the hare woke up. He looked around and saw that the tortoise was near the finish line! He jumped up and ran as fast as he could. But it was too late. The tortoise had already crossed the finish line!

     

    All the animals cheered, “The tortoise won! The tortoise won!”

     

    The hare was shocked. He had lost the race! He felt ashamed. The tortoise smiled and said, “Slow and steady wins the race.”

     

    Moral of the Story:

    Slow and steady wins the race. – If we work hard and keep going, we will succeed.

    Never underestimate others. – Do not think you are better than everyone.

    While walking, he looked down into the water. The river was calm and clear. The dog saw his own reflection in the water. But he did not know it was his shadow. He thought, “Oh! There is another dog in the water. He also has a piece of meat. His meat looks bigger than mine!”

     

     

    The greedy dog wanted that meat too. He thought, “If I bark at him and scare him, he will drop his meat. Then I can take his meat and eat both pieces.”

     

    The dog opened his mouth to bark, “Woof! Woof!”

     

    But as soon as he barked, his own piece of meat fell from his mouth into the river. Plop! The meat sank deep into the water and was gone.

     

    The dog became very sad. He tried to find his meat, but it was too late. The river had carried it away.

     

    He sat down and thought, “Oh no! I was greedy. I wanted more, and now I have lost what I already had.” The dog learned a big lesson that day. He walked away with an empty stomach, feeling sorry for his mistake.

    Greed is a curse. – If we become too greedy, we may lose everything.

    Be happy with what you have. – Do not always want more.

    The fox stood under the grapevine and looked up. But the grapes were very high. He could not reach them. He thought, “I must try to get the grapes.”

     

    The fox took a step back and jumped. He tried to grab the grapes with his mouth, but he missed. The grapes were too high.

     

    The fox did not give up. He tried again. He took a big jump, but still, he could not reach them. He tried many times. He jumped once, twice, three times, but the grapes were too far.

     

     

    The fox became very tired. His legs started hurting. He sat down and looked at the grapes. He was angry and disappointed. Then, he thought, “Maybe these grapes are not sweet. Maybe they are sour. I do not need them.”

     

    The fox stood up and walked away. As he left, he said, “These grapes are not good. “The grapes are sour”. I do not want them.”

     

    In his heart, the fox knew he wanted the grapes. But because he could not get them, he pretended they were bad.

    But when they reached the hill, there was no wolf. The boy laughed again and said, “I fooled you again! There is no wolf!”

    The villagers were very angry this time. They said, “You are a liar! We will not believe you again.” Then they went back to their work.

     

    One day, a real wolf came. It was big and dangerous. It saw the sheep and wanted to eat them. The boy was scared. He climbed up a tree and shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Help! A real wolf is attacking my sheep!”

    The villagers heard his cries, but they thought, “He is lying again. We will not go.” They did not run to help him.

But the water was very low, and the crow could not reach it. He tried to put his beak inside, but he could not drink the water. The crow felt sad.

     

     

    The crow did not lose hope. He started thinking, “How can I drink the water?” Suddenly, he had a clever idea. He looked around and saw many small stones on the ground. He picked up a stone with his beak and dropped it into the pot. The stone went inside, and the water level rose a little.

     

    The crow was happy. He picked up another stone and dropped it into the pot. The water level rose again. The crow kept picking up stones and dropping them into the pot one by one. Slowly, the water level rose higher and higher.

     

    After some time, the water reached the top of the pot. The crow was very happy. He put his beak into the pot and drank the cool water. His thirst was gone. He felt fresh and strong again.

     

    The crow was very proud of himself. He said, “I did not give up. I used my mind, and I found a way to drink the water.” Then the crow flew away happily.
